We offer repairs, tuning and restringing for orchestra instruments at a reasonable cost. The cost of strings is not included in our stringing and tuning prices. We do carry a large selection of strings for purchase at all levels, whether you are a beginner or a professional. Bridge work, sound post adjustments and bow replacement can all be done in our shop as well.

Woodwind Instruments
Shining Light Music offers in-house repair services, ranging from basic tune-ups to re-pads on all woodwind instruments. Woodwind technician, Don Miller, has over 30 years of experience in the musical instrument repair business. In addition to woodwind repair, Don has over 40 years of experience performing and teaching professionally on flute, clarinet and saxophone. Don’s expertise and diligence help us ensure that our customers typically have a short wait time of 1-3 days for their woodwind instrument repairs.

Brass Instrument
Shining Light Music is pleased to team up with Integrity Woodwind & Brass Works for our brass instruments and woodwind overflow as needed. Brass services include stuck valves, chemical cleanings, dent removal and more. Instruments are delivered twice weekly to master brass technician, Gordon Black, at his home repair shop in Leawood, KS. Upon receiving customers’ instruments, Gordon performs a thorough evaluation and calls each customer with an estimate for the total cost of the necessary repairs. Because of the careful attention to detail given by both sides of our duo, customers can usually expect their brass instrument repairs to be completed within 3-5 days.
